- What is grief and trauma coaching?
- A grief and trauma coach is a trained peer who walks alongside you through loss, shock, and any traumatic event that has affected your wellness — listening without judgment, helping you identify your strengths, and supporting you in building a personal wellness plan. Unlike therapy, coaching focuses on the present and forward motion rather than clinical diagnosis or treatment.
- How is coaching different from therapy?
- Therapy is clinical and treats diagnosable conditions. Grief and trauma coaching is peer-based support that uses lived experience, the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) approach, and compassionate accountability to help you move forward. Many people use both.
- What happens in a session?
- Sessions are private, paced to you, and shaped by what you bring. We may talk through what you're feeling, identify grounding tools, build coping practices, or simply sit with the weight of it together. Faith-based or community/neutral support — your choice.
- Who is this for?
- Anyone carrying loss, trauma, or the aftermath of a difficult event — recent or old, expected or sudden. We specialize in homicide loss, traumatic grief, and supporting people navigating both the emotional impact and the systems that follow it.
- Can coaching help if my trauma isn't related to grief?
- Yes. While grief is a common reason people reach out, coaching can also support you after violence, accidents, abuse, sudden life changes, or any experience that has shaken your sense of safety or wellness. You don't need to label your experience for it to be valid here.
